hemorrhoid treatmentHemorrhoid Treatment You Can Do on Your Own

Hemorrhoids are never fun to deal with, and they can become even more problematic if you do not heal them early on. At the first symptoms you should look into hemorrhoid treatment so your condition does not get any worse. Believe it or not, your body could actually heal the hemorrhoids on its own if you gave it a chance to. There are a number of hemorrhoid treatments you can do right at home, and that may allow you to bypass the need for doctor involvement. Here are some suggestions for treatments to try.

Ice

You may use an ice pack on your anus to relieve some of the swelling found with hemorrhoids. Apply the ice to your body in ten to fifteen minute sessions, and follow that up with a warm bath if you want. This will relax the muscles and allow much of the healing to take place. If you use this time to clean your anus, be sure to use a mild soap that will not irritate the skin in any way. Abrasive products will only make your hemorrhoids worse.

Creams

You can purchase some hemorrhoids cream over the counter to relieve many of the symptoms from the condition. There are generic and name brand options available to you, but some of them vary by strength. You should start out with the weakest formula on the shelf and work your way up in strength as you continue treatment. You could actually overdose on cream if you use the wrong strength.

Sleep

You sleep anyway, so you might as well use this time to heal your hemorrhoids. The harder and longer you sleep, the more time your body has to get better. You do need to stay somewhat active during the day instead of sitting around, but you can also choose to lie in bed to relieve some of the pressure on your anus. Devote a few days to bed rest and you may be able to fully recover from the hemorrhoids. Never underestimate the power and simplicity of an at home hemorrhoid treatment.
